Tell us about yourself, personal and professional. In a community it is important to know each other in order to trust one another. What motivates you, what knowledge do you bring to the community. And what do you expect to learn from the community?
The more you share, the more you will get in return: that's how it works in a community.

Hello

My name is Henk-Jan Scholman (in English that would be Hank Yan Scollman, I guess :? ) , founder and sole employee of my company 'ideci'; it stands for inter disciplinary engineering consultancy and integration. Read more about it in the 'Promote Yourself' section or visit http://www.ideci.nl (in Dutch language).

Check out my LinkedIn profile for all the professional data: https://www.linkedin.com/in/henkjanscholman. In short: background in electronic engineering, became an industrial automation software engineer covering the whole process from customer specification to commissioning. Later I became a team leader (software engineering) and manager engineering (electrical and software) at a system integrator that designs and builds control systems for all kinds of industrial equipment.

Working on the automation of production processes has learned me to always look for ways to optimize production. This is probably the reason why I look at an engineering process in the same way: how can we make this more efficient? That is what I've been doing the last 10 years.

I think this video (with courtesy of EPLAN & hollander techniek) sums it up quite nicely (sorry, in Dutch):

I expect to learn a lot from this community. I would like to share my ideas, thoughts and theories and see if they are valid. If not, I learn even more!

I live in the Netherlands, 47 years old, married, two kids. I have a broad interest in science, nature, technology and history. I enjoy riding my motorcycle; it is actually my main means of transport:

The Ducati is for business and fun. I also have a KTM Adventure bike for fun only. I like to take it out off the beaten track on a week or weekend trip. It brings me to beautiful places:

But the best part is ... coming home again.
