EPLAN Engineering Configuration One

This is an Excel tool and the Follower from Schaltplankonfigurator from EPLAN 5.

The Benefit is, that a lot of people working with Excel so this is the door opener and also the problem.
Everybody knows the how komfortable (mostly not) is the overview in large Excel sheets.

Pro's and Con's
Pro:
Excel is an tool that is existing in mostly all companies and everbody get in touch with it more or less.
For this it is a quick stepp in, to generate drawings

Con:
Regulation of Excel, for example 8 Arguments per cell, that maybe force you to work with auxilliary cells to get the needed result.
Depend of the devolpment and strategy of Microsoft if you work with Visual Basic
It isn't working with the plug socket technologie of EEC Prof.
you lost the overview if you scale it like in EEC Prof.
Masterdata and projectdata are in the same Excel file

I think this could be closed during the next 5 years, if cogineer would be a burner
or they will find a better modular solution to generate drawings.

I understood that nowadays it does make the use of plug-socket technology ? Unless I misunderstood Ulf Klein and Rene Hulleman ?

EPLAN argumentation is for example, start with EEC One and if it works change to EEC Prof.

The Problem is, EEC one and EEC Prof have a different concept to work with the macros.
and therefor you could not change the tools in an simply way.
Start with EECone, rewise your macros for generating diagrams in functional mechatronic elements
Chang to EEC Prof. rework your complete macro library with plugs and sockets to use them in EEC Prof.
and rework your structure and fragments.

The Benefit of Case Generator Center is, that they use the Plug Socket technologie and for that you could change direkt
to work with the rules in EEC and get a faster change.
